Creative Director
Designer. Design, concept and produce the cover of TIME magazine, challenged with presenting the world’s biggest news stories. I oversee the design of the brand on all editorial platforms.
Manager. Handle all aspects of managing a creative staff of art directors, designers, photo editors, graphic artists and researchers. I commission and art direct some of the world's best photographers and artists. I manage an editorial operating budget, maintaining quality and efficiency.

Digital
Social. I have art directed more than 200 animated covers for TIME's 50 million+ social audience on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
iPad. Led TIME's editorial and design as the first weekly magazine to launch on the iPad, meeting with Steve Jobs and working with Apple to produce the first iPad issue from start to publishing in 40 days.
iPhone. Conceived and led TIME to produce the first fully-interactive weekly magazine designed specifically for the iPhone.
Web. Helped lead the creative process during a complete redesign of time.com.
Artist. Concepted and created 99 original pieces of artwork (above) for the Slices of TIME NFT project. Each piece included “slices” of TIME covers from every year since 1923, showing the design transformation of the cover and showcasing the variety of artists and photographers that have filled the red-bordered canvas. Artist. Created an original NFT piece for Sotheby’s Natively Digital auction called The Lines of History (right). It features 5,044 cover lines on TIME since 1923 and sold for $82,000 at Sotheby’s auction. Click here for the full interactive
Art Director. Currently lead TIME’s visual direction in the NFT space, including the TIMEPieces Collection on OpenSea, which featured the work of 40 artists in a drop of 4,767 NFTs. Click here for more about the project

Designer
Magazines. Designed seven Person of the Year cover packages, several TIME 100 projects, dozens of special issues including 9/11, Steve Jobs and Michael Jackson, and hundreds of TIME cover stories and features over the past two decades.
Books. Art directed and designed more than two dozen books including Obama's Inauguration, Haiti, Ted Kennedy, The 100 Greatest Places in History, Barack Obama: Eight Years and Inside the White House. I also art directed Bracketology: The Final Four of Everything and wrote a bracket on the best NFL logos.
Newspapers. Served as the Features Design Coordinator at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for four years and led the design for the AJC's coverage of the 1996 Olympic Games.

Writer
Digital. Aside from writing and concepting cover lines and headlines for TIME, I write occasional stories for time.com.
Staff Writer. Prior to TIME, I was a sportswriter for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution with more than 1,100 published stories in six years. I covered local and professional sports and the PGA Tour. I also traveled with a NCAA college basketball team, serving as its beat writer for three seasons.

Speaker
Presenter. Lecturer. Teacher. Present at design conferences and workshops around the world, including speaking and teaching a two-day design workshop for journalists in Beijing, China and serving as a featured speaker at an international design conference in Amsterdam. Frequently speak at conferences, universities and festivals throughout the U.S., including New York, San Francisco, San Diego, Washington, D.C., Portland, Tampa, Montana, Las Vegas and Atlanta. Misc.
Curator. I was commissioned to design and curate an exhibit for Livraria Lello in Porto, Portugal (above), considered one of the world’s most beautiful bookstores. The exhibit, which opened June 2021, focused on the history of the Nobel Prize in Literature as told through historical TIME covers. Click here for more about the exhibit
