I wrote more than 1,100 published stories during a six-year stint as a sportswriter for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the South's largest newspaper.

Wrote a weekly golf column and covered the PGA Tour.

Served as the beat writer for Georgia State University's college basketball team, traveling with the team for three seasons.

Covered all local sports and wrote occasional features on Atlanta's professional sports teams.

Served as the Editor-in-Chief of the GSU Signal, the South's largest university newspaper.

Managed a staff of 25+ writers, editors and photographers and met weekly with the president of the University.

Wrote a weekly column as well as dozens of news and feature stories each week for the 100-page+ weekly newspaper.

Designed most of the pages (on layout boards!) and installed desktop publishing in my term as editor.

Awarded the South's Best College Newspaper by the Society of Professional Journalists during my editorship.

Also served as the sports editor and news editor for two years.
